Galeria Foody

These days, there are lots of things tried and special things are explored. Well, usually we always said great chefs are males. Try not to deny it as my friend and i are crazy as we start to think what to cook today and what to buy tomorrow to cook. We started to discuss with those 'aunty' style as we compare the cheap things and where to get greatER deals. Talking about which soap powder is better and where to buy cheaper chicken.

Haha... well, the other day, we really tried something really crazy.. Kangaroo meat. Yeah, its marinated and ready to stir fry. We tried that ... with RISK.. but its frankly.. NOT BAD! There is another whole chicken marinated with tandoori sauce ready to grill. Thus, we just chuck the whole chicken into the oven and when its ready.. omg. .. its smells sooooo good. The skin is crispy and the meat is tender and juicy! and its CHEAP! Bet ya.. its NICE!

North Terrace, Adelaide

The day started of with thinkings and wild expectations on whatever i was told about in Australia. The feeling has never been so wild and emotions filled with tears but peppered through with excitement.

Well, the journey to the foreign land is indeed a meaningful journey for myself. But a bright day started off well for me!

0654 : Upon arrival to Adelaide International Airport

11 Feb 2005, Fri
****************

Today its a beautiful day started off from yesterday where the whole comprises Kim Teck, Wui, See Woon, Cws, Bryan and me
and of course seng meng joined us later in the evening. Friday, particularly this friday, is a going out night, but this time it seems much further
far from usual - Australia. Started the journey to airport at 6pm and upon reaching, realized there's ALOT of people checking in. Busy period i guess, Chinese New Year
prolly.

Checked in but cant managed to get seats together with wen chet and ck. nvm, its not even an aisle seat! sigh. nvm, Once on the plane, i felt hungry. nvm, dinner will be served soon.
Tooks sweet and sour fish with rice. Its NOT BAD!! well, watched some boring show. Decided to try to get some sleep.but cant! its not comfortable at all!!
nvm. Its almost reaching anyway, had breakfast... what?? eat again? nvm, just eat.

12 Feb 2005, Sat
****************

Landed in Adelaide after a 6 hours flight. Sets watch to local time, 2.5 hours ahead. kinda cool and nice weather. But the airport seems to be shockingly small and deserted!nvm.
went through immigration which waited for ages for my turn. Checked in... looked for my luggages and my pc which i had sent earlier through excess baggage. Got it, went through customs,
declared my anchovies and vitamins. Moved on to the arrival hall.. saw someone holding a Unisa sign. Said hi and smeone took me to my house.Looks nice!(from the outside)
opened the door, and saw some note left by my seniors at my room dor. opened my door, OMG. an old fireplace, a sofa and a bed. thats all. the light is so dim and NO FAN! omg.. im gonna die. nvm
Went to the kitchen, oh dear.. the conditions are so bad...nvm.. tried to look around and unpack some things preparing to shower. Showered, then unpack my pc.. rested
cause its seriously tired, didnt sleep at all on the plane. Then, hungry, went to the shops nearby as directed earlier by my seniors and bought some instant noodles and a sausage to eat.
After eating, decided to go to city to check out things.. since theres nothing i can do at home. so bored.

Braved myself to take the train... looked properly and boarded the train to Adelaide. reached. used my memory that i read before the city map on the internet to look for the campus. I FOUND IT!!! KEWL!
well, after that, i found out that i still cant find any place to go, wait... ivy's place in Rose Park, try to recall the direction.. and luckily found a bus that goes there.. boarded and stopped right in front
of rose park's Watson's avenue. walked, and found the PLACE!!! woot! BUT ivy's not home. waited, and she's back half an hour later. she cooked dinner. and .. frankly her cooking kinda weird.. hahaha.. all soy sauce.
I think salt is too expensive for her! haha.

Well, the other days, my pc spoilt, so no entries. Currently im using the university's wireless which is quotaed and firewalled. Thus, cant use msn and chat messengers. Sigh. Am getting a broadband soon.

Classes will be starting soon on the 28th, thus i stil have one more week free to linger around the city of Adelaide which is kinda small. just one MAIN street. haha.. yeap.. u guessed right, which is North Terrace. Well, missing malaysian food already especially mamak.

Theres a few shops in chinatown that offers great deal of food, as $5/6 meals are considered cheap. The roasted duck rice which is soooo nice and soooo large.. the serving can accomodate 2 person for small eaters. Well, dont be surprising if you see some sambal and spices made in malaysia!!! BRAHIMS!! hahaha.. well, that is in chinese grocery store.

Will be posting more photos soon. so be patient!

Overweight,...

ok, im talking about my baggages.. thus, i sent my pc through an excess baggages service which is cheaper. The three boxes consisting my cpu, 13" monitor and altec lansing speakers are carefully wrapped and packed and sent to the office two days ago. The boxes looks like these....

CPU.jpg
My CPU.. well, i know its kinda big and i know william's and tim's are EXTRA small size.. dang.

CPU1.jpg
My Samsung 13" monitor and beloved altec lansing speakers..

Well, initially there are a few choices of luaggage size combinations planned but.. managed to squeeze everything inside ONE large one. Thus the rest i just chuck it into my backpack.. kewl rite?
The packings includes 4 pairs of shoes, t shirts, shirts, pants, instant wild ginseng tea, anchovies, wild ginseng, toileteries, pc eXtra slim keyboard, mouse, LOADS of writing pen and LOTS more.. here is how it looks like...

All STUFFED!!

Packing is fun.. travelling is fun too.. but staying there for 9 months is another different story. Im up for it. (sure bo?)

[six days] Week or day? Might be hour..

the last week in malaysia arrived at last... still remember that more than 2 months ago, i was yelling to everyone that there are lots of time to enjoy and meet up with everyone before i leave, however, everything turned short, brief and flew through in just seconds.

Considering and thinking and recalling the events once i first entered taylor's .. first talked to a guy.. (dunno wat siong) sitting next to me on the first class, and during orientation, the first talk, a guy from IT talked to me. well.. that time it was really freaking me out as an introvert and quiet chap.

Then comes to the class where i ganged up with alicia, joyce, chinng yeong, seok jin and aizat. well.. we went very close... and something happened later on. This disaster broke out and it leads to my huge discovery. Guess wat...

..

.....

Hmm.. well, its a finding of mySELF. I found myself at that time, found a target, found a plank to stand on without holding on any bars. ONe side of me, i should be happy, however, the other side, my heart was lacerated severely..

Things DO changed a bit.. a bit... and a bit.. from weeks to months... and luckily.. it didnt take years to actually woke myself up.. and gutsy came back. The dandelion returned and the cubs actually never left their dens.

I never regretted.. not a single sigh on my decision to enter this realm of adventure, never blame anyone getting to know a cadet of great companies guiding me through the full 3 years of my most memorable and fruitful journey.

Furthermore, the pathway was spiced with a few fantastic mates known in recent days.. that made me feeling so fortunate to understand every ending leads to a bright new beginning.

Thank You Very Much.

[10 Days] Xploring...

Many might not have the chance to experience the life of studying abroad, thus they feel happy and extremely excited and some feel contented that they are willing to complete their degree/diploma. Some are just plain spoilts where they expect their parents will send them abroad after their SPM or such, which there they spend a few years as a stepping stone or barrier to break through before they face the working world.

Well, you should feel very and extremely lucky to have a chance to taste bitter, sweet, sour and all types of spices alone... in other words, be there to be prepared. But lots parents they tend to get them prepared to be there! its always good, no doubt that if you are ready to face whatever that is coming your way, however, what is so bad that you face watever that is ready to come your way instead? That is how to be independant!

We are not trained to be trained, but we are thought to be trained. thus, the basics we are using are still a little outdated and need to be updated. The challenges lies ahead are bleak and clear at the same time but we know that we HAVE to go through it.

I am seriously not ready to face it, but i am facing it. 10 days .
