RIP

Leukaemia

- What actually causes this disease? Is it something inherited or diet?

Just yesterday.. the phone rang and my dad answered. Its the often worrying caller from Penang. My 2nd Uncle told my dad, my 5th uncle (my dad is the 3rd son) has just passed away from his leukaemia. He passed away at 8:39pm yesterday in Penang. He had gone through a last happy moment.. that is few months after he was told he had leukimia. I know that he had been working in the steel factory and quarry and working as a welder has been damaging his health.

I still remember he goes fishing often and catches fish and crabs home. He sold off the fishes and brought some back for the family. I still remember, he always intentionally goes out fishing and try so hard to get crabs for me and my family whenever we are back in Penang. The crabs and fish tastes nothing better than fresh, sweet and juicy!! sigh..

Well, he lives a simple life, single, around 53 years old(not too sure) and he is just a simple nice uncle to us. Although im not very close to him, as my family stays in Kuala Lumpur, i feel the dark gloomy moments shades over the bright moments my cousins and i had with him. May he Rest In Peace...

As a respect, I display nothing but only this post for 3 days.

Some Buds Are Meant To Be Closed

There are quite a number of things going on.. happened.. and concurrently.

Concurrently, the issue of financial difficulties of the shock of the offer letter from UNiSA taken today only to realize i was offered a 2.5 year course and not 2. The half year made a lot of difference in fees.. which is approx RM 30k extra. Vannessa (Taylors Placement Centre advisor) had been telling me and advising me a few breakaways. Loan or change of university. The cheapest in Australia is Curtin.. which is not really recommended as the standard is kinda low.. and relatively low. My parents are scratching the head.. im worrying that i might not be able to pursue my studies.. im dented. im doomed. All of a sudden the choices of working first.. or even going to Melbourne only doing ONE year.. . oh dear. i really dont really want to get just a Bachelor of Planning & Design.. i want to get something really QS.. and specialized. the problem arises...

Happened/Concurrently...i have a crush. however this person gave me a different dream. trying to hop from one to another.. which is this one.. as once, this person gave me a comforting.. and really comforting feeling. At one time, i was very down after exams and she gave me a hug.. after that. unconsciously.. i started talking .. which i was so moody and tears almost came out. I felt much better after she comforted me. That is the first time i felt so comforting and loved. O well, afterall im just another stupid idiot that take it too seriously and she just have her heart for someone else..

I do realize that .. yes.. everyone loves this tree, Merak. They really love it.. but however.. which itself, unsure whether its something good or bad.. nooone really have the special love for it. The bark of the tree looks just fantastic.. but deep inside, the cracks started.. longing some drizzles of water will rain in the desert... watering and showering it with some special care and priority..
Afterall now.. Merak just floats around again with its lonely stem.. where it cant and never have waited for the flower bud growing all around it.. will never blossom.. as it realize.. some buds are meant to be closed...

Sweet Bitter Gourd

The day was about 5 weeks ago when a friend of mine, Siok Lea gave me a call. Then, i was still in my sling from my dislocated shoulder. She started by saying..

Siok Lea : HL, is ur arm alright?"

before i could explain further about what im experiencing..she already started her next sentence..

Siok Lea : I need you to help me to organize a volleyball competition.
Me : what volleyball competition?

she explains further...

Siok Lea : Bla bla bla bla.... .. So im depending on you!..
Me : *Speechless*

Oh well, i didnt really think any further and promised her. Once i got back to college, i realize the initial idea is just very simple.. getting the prize money, sponsors to buy hampers and thats all. Later on, we are looking for more and more sponsors.. the check lists are so long that we had to devide the work amongst all the committees. At that time i recruited Aileen, Nadia and David.

Its always not easy to look for sponsors.. once, Siok Lea and I approached Mr Tony L and he suggested to us we should look for Dato' Loy, our Taylors CEO. O well, we did, we made an appointment to meet Dato' and it was Fruitful!!! we got a huge support from him. Well, although we had some sponsors from Dato', we are still short of cash. I remember then, we had meetings and meetings discussing this matter, trying all our best to get cash funds. We approached ms Sharifah, a prog head for Mass Comm, she sponsored our rental for our venue!!
Tears, blood shed (err..) from our dearest secretary Aileen that she got banged from sponsors, people ignoring her and o well, she did got us some SNACks.. *wink* well, what i can say is... hard work DO pay off. Here comes the big day..

The day started with a crack of ice.. as i overslept.. =P Yong Han, my friend arrived at my front door and i just woke up.. luckily i had already packed all the stuff i need. We reached the place at around 8:10am.
We started off with unloading goods, including PA system, drinks and snacks from Izhar's Van.. i have to graetly give the biggest credit to him as he had contributed alot alot.. Thanks Izhar!!! Then the crew are all preparing to the start of the tournament!

I cant say more other than to thank all the individuals involved in making this event successful. I would like to thank ...

Izhar again that had contributed his time, effort, sponsorships and ur CHEERLEADING!!! without you, the fun is not there!

Siok Lea as my vice, my supporter, my helper, my advisor, other than being noisy at times, she's just a fantastic girl! Thank You for inviting me to organize this.. or else i wont have a chance to work with you closely and got to know u better. will miss you!

Candice the one who interacts with the players/team managers most.. our Public Relations gal!! You did alot alot in contacting the people.. and the communication is very important to put things together.. you had done a great and fantastic job. Its not surprising people calls u and not me.. ;) and Sorry to make u the score keeper on the second day.. forgive me.

Aileen the running girl around the phone calls, you have been scolded, ignored and pressured by sponsors and by me.. i apologize. You tried your very best.. and i appreciate your commitment. It inspires, really. The spirit in you is firey but.. please cool urself down before u melt down all the ice on our poles.

William Fong , the man in blue black.. er.. =P has been working behind the publicities, designing our posterS*, wallpaperS* and tags...and also the running man, the official photographer. From not-interested-to-help man to a help-damn-alot man.. Thank You!
*yes, he did MORE than a dozen of wallpapers.

Joni Ong as the other layout designer, designing our mock cheque, certificates and booklets.. nice job girl!! those are next to none important.

Nadia Tan the innocent one in the committee.. but she had done a great job in looking for Rizal, head of special events of Xfresh to get them to do the publicity for us and sponsors of goody bags!! Dont worry dear, u did a great job..!

David Teoh Its a pity we cant get nestle to come over or The Star to cover our event.. or publicize.. but we will make sure they get it covered with our write up.. thanks a lot!

Players you guys gave ur best.. tried every trick.. gave a good performance.. no dissapointment, its a great achievement for a newly formed Team. I'm really proud of you guys.

Linesmen without you guys, there will be no justice.. the concentration and effort is much appreciated.. nothing goes harder than giving the right call.. great job !!

To conclude, i would like to thank all the sponsors.. and Dato' Loy Teik Ngan, CEO of Taylors Education Group for contributing a lot to us.. and complimenting the committees of their hardwork with a stay at Summerset Colonial Resort ,Teluk Rompin, Pahang.

Guys get ready to enjoy and compensate ourselves!!!

Cheers!

Solving A Dead Knot

im sorry people.. its not i chose to write in codes or such, but im trying to express myself in a way.. hoping someone could know what i mean.. writing it down, my problems could more or less 'organize' my doubts and it might find a way through.. but this time, the source isnt from me.. its not my call to settle it. i just have to wait.. and wait.. under the heavy downpour.... wish me luck.

Treeing to Extinction

Its been years and years a tree grew from a seed to 10m tall. The world is not too bad providing it resources to grow and stay alive, water, nutriens and sunlight. The nature treats it great.

It has fellow trees, bushes and grass, plants or even creepers.. it has grown to a great tree, providing shades to fragile creepers on the ground and letting parasites on itself. With the life it had, there is no trouble for it to live in a healthy environment in the forests. However, it has some xilem failures and disturbances on its roots. Something is biting off its roots day by day.. month after month. Its leaves start turning yellow and shows unstablility of its own life.

Now it faces the verge and probability of getting extinct and nothing cares about it anymore. The life is now on its ownself.. which its internal problems are disasterous. It wonders how long it can last. The situation without roots is unbearable. Rain water keep pouring on it but nothing is able to withstand the bitings on roots..

Could someone save it?

Unforgetable Me

MerDeka! MerDeka! MerDeka!

Yelled our first Prime Minister striking the last moment of the British Intervention and the start of the country's independence. I feel very patriotic about this and proud although there are lots of twists and turns about the story. I remembered i read the very first novel in my life and i fell in love with it. Bukit Kepong by Ismail Johari which we had to read it for Bahasa Melayu literature. I am touched and got stuck with the novel. At that time, i love the novel so much which i can remember every single happening in the story line. I am very proud of the mata-mata (police in olden malay) that worked and risked their lives against the comunis.

Saying about patriotism, why are we, in these modern days.. is that really there are no ways to show our patriotism? Is it that going out on Merdeka Eve and raising the flag from a motorcycle considered patriotism? Gathered and crowding the area in KLCC can be said as patriotism? or we are just plain bored and grabbed the opportunity to go out and celebrate and for the sake of going out? sigh..

I cant comment much as me myself was in the cineplex watching movie. =)

O well, as many knows, Merdeka Day serves a different purpose for me. A special day for me which i will be at home MOST of the time. Yes its my birthday. Every year, i will celebrate the eve of merdeka with either my buddy or two or three of my friends.. watching the fireworks somewhere over the driving wheels.. and the merdeka morning would start off with just a simple breakfast or maybe a dinner with parents. Not many friends will celebrate with me cause its always a holiday ...

BUT! This year, my birthday seems to be very colourful and interesting.. and.. remembered! Its the 30th of August plays the trick as it falls on a MOnday... and i was surprised with a surprise birthday party.. thrown by my friends. Joyce and Izhar would be the one who i should thank them loads! I also received a number of presents.. so many that my mum asked did i buy it myself. haha. I've never received so many birthday presents before.. and so many people celebrate it with me. Im so happy and touched.

When i entered the studio.. i felt im so lost.. the first time someone organized something FOR ME! without my notice.. i dont know what to do.. i even tend to cut the cake before i blow the candle!! haha.. im so lost.!!

101_0119.JPG
"hey! make a wish before u cut the cake!!" shouted someone..

At that time i made a wish and everyone was like staring at me.. oh dear.. first time since long i have crowd fright.! o dear!! people says u have crowd fright cause of lack of confidence.. yes.. cause i was so UNPREPARED!!

101_0128.JPG
Joyce, the organizer and me.. isnt she's great?

They had a choc cake from Bakers' Cottage, and some meehoon and fried rice and chicken curry catered from downstairs. Izhar, i will remember how the face-off-cake tastes like..!
Thanks loads again Joyce and people who came!! This will remain fresh forever in my mind! I had a great time. Mui once said.. "now u know theres so many people loves u.." i agree with her.. now i know!
Happy Birthday To me!

p/s. u guys are making me cry.
